Nabeshiki, a trivet traditionally made by farmers with the products of the rice harvest, weaving the straw with the palm of their hands.

Made by the Kai family in the town of Hinokage, Miyazaki Prefecture, this trivet is designed for round-bottomed pots, such as the traditional donabe, but fits perfectly in any other type of pot or teapot.

The loop allows it to be hung on the wall when not in use, thus also serving as a decorative element.
