Hand-decorated by Takada-san – Kanagawa Prefecture – with natural Japanese indigo blue dye using the traditional textile dyeing technique called Katazome.

Kata means stencil and Zome (or Some) dyeing.

The blue indigo color is a plant pigment obtained from a shrub belonging to the Fabaceae family called Indigofera Tinctoria, and is used for natural dyeing.
