Winter landscapes and Yukinko ‘children of the snow’ are the subjects of the beautiful Japanese washi paper cards, hand-dyed by Takada san in natural indigo color.
Each piece is individually dyed using the Katazome technique – Kata means stencil or pattern, and Zome (or Some) means dyeing – so each one is unique.
Ideal as a greeting card or as a print for framing
The children of the snow Yukinko wear minomushi, the characteristic waterproof garment made of rice straw typical of the northern regions of Japan used to shelter from snow and strong winds.
