The ‘Yu Dasuki’ knot is made from rice straw grown in the terraced rice fields of Hinokage Town, Miyazaki Prefecture.

It is a good-luck amulet made from two ropes that are twisted in different directions and firmly tied together.

This type of knot (tasuki) was used to tuck up the sleeves of a “Kimono” that mid-wife wore. It is a wish for pregnancy and smooth delivery.
